"But drunkenness is a very unfortunate Vice in this respect. It bears no kind of Similitude with any sort of Virtue, from which it might possibly borrow a Name; and is therefore reduc'd to the wretched Necessity of being express'd by distant round-about Phrases, and of perpetually varying those Phrases, as often as they come to be well understood to signify plainly that a man is drunk."

Classy, yet cheap.

No, not Aristocrat -- my take on the D.C. bar scene. Less classy, more cheap. I'm not the $14 martini kind of girl, I'm more like a 2-for-1 house Merlot kind of girl. So here's to beer, and here's to liquor; here's to skipping dinner to make it quicker (I don't actually recommend that -- see "Grapes with Apes." It's happy hours and late night specials. It's spending hours with friends and cameras with pictures you don't remember.

Find the best happy hour in town? Send me the info -- I'll be there in an hour.

Pay way too much for a weak drink? Rant away and I'll write a strongly worded letter.
